It’s officially Spring! In honor of Spring I decided to make a new Welcome sign. Today I’m going to share with you how I made it.
Here’s what you’ll need:
String or Ribbion
A Wooden Plaque (I bought mine from of Walmart for $4)
Piece of Chalk
White Paint Pen
Variety of Paint
Start by painting the wooden plaque. When it’s dry take a piece of chalk and write the word “Welcome”on the plaque. (I don’t have bubbly cheerleader handwriting, so writing in chalk allows me to erase it and rewrite it. Until I get a version that’s legible and that I don’t absolutely hate.)
Once you’ve written a version of the word “Welcome” in chalk that you actually like, grab the paint pen and trace it. You’ll need to go over it a few times.
Next place one of flower stencils on the wooden plaque, where you want them, and secure them with masking tape. Then paint. Repeat this step as many times as you’d like using different stencils. Allow sign to dry. When the sign is dry flip it over and staple the string to the back of it. (The length of the string will depend on the size of plaque and the level at which you’d like it to hang. Then ENJOY!! Happy Spring Everybody!!!
